Bravo! You are a champ for sticking with this one. I had to figure it out on my own, after spending an entire week (no exaggeration either) with HP, Microsoft, and Kodak attempting to solve this, and other issues. It culminated in the complete and utter breaking (yes, as in...it Broke the Hardware on my 2 year old HP...the POS), and I vowed from that moment on I would never go back to 'support' again!

The KODAK ESP Printer driver is one of the features that you must have where the main function of the driver is to connect the Printer Hardware that will be read by the Windows, Macintosh or linux operating system. So, if you do not have a driver, it is certain that your printer will not work.

So, while waiting for my NEW laptop to arrive, I scoured the archives of Kodak, and found the exact remedy you received from someone at Kodak! It just shows that 'support' is fallible.....no one is perfect, but for some strange reason, just like when you first commented and said that 'well, she's toast..Scotty'-- you took another run at it, and found the answer you were looking for!

I am really happy for you, and even happier for the people that will read this and decide to not give up on the first try and just 'assume' that the printer/scanner is not compatible. As a matter of fact, I have a brand new, bad- a**, loaded to the gills laptop, and when I went to connect the 3250, I expected it to just say, 'hi', and be off to the races. Nope. Not so. What I found out was that the laptop viewed the printer and the scanner as two completely separate devices, and the latter was an 'imaging device' on the Device Monitor. I had to locate a specific driver for the scanner, which was Not an east find, BTW, and then install that in. What really chapped me was that the silly Kodak Home Center thingy that they want us to use so desperately (and which DOES have a great feature on it when Scanning specifically), kept telling me that the darn thing was working just fine--until I would try and scan something, that it...then everything would go haywire and I would have to start reinstalling all of the software because it wanted it back apparently. Not very nice, I'd say...but that's just me.

Either way, congrats to you, and I am SO GLAD that you got it fixed. You should, if you haven't already, post this solution on Bleeping so that others can benefit from the file. You're like Magellan......discovering new territory!!
